With the nation becoming more vigilant on what they are spending or more to the point what they are spending it on, it is time to re-adjust and sit to down to concentrate on the inevitable Christmas shop.
Asking ourselves the question, " have I bought enough?" I am guilty of doing just that, and purchasing random presents in a panic to make up the gifts. Of course when buying all the little extra bits it does not seem a lot, but when you add the cost together it can be quite shocking.
So looking ahead to this year, what to buy? I have decided that the gifts I buy this year for my family are going to be more personal and useful, I guess more like an investment. You would think as a photographer my house and all my relatives are full of images that I have taken of them and their families etc. The truth is that most of them have got no images of the family.... So I thought that I can not be the only one with a lack of professional portraits. This year if you want to make someone very happy give them a family portrait, something for them to keep forever not just another present but an investment.
