Tips and resources for displaying and using your old photographs

Welcome to my new mini site dedicated to providing you with a professional scanning service for all your old photographs and slides on to a DVD. We provide a fantastic photo restoration retouching service plus all your negatives to digital on a DVD which will provide you with a set of digital negatives to have printed where you wish, we also offer a professional printing and framing service.

We all have old negatives, slides and old photographs stored in boxes cupboards and attics just gathering dust, why not dust them off and bring them to our studio where we can make a fabulous DVD of all the images, for you to show the family all of your remarkable history, with the simplicity of just popping the DVD into the player or your home computer.

We also can provide a professional restoration service, so we can restore old photographs that may have faded or indeed been damaged.

Old photography

Old photographs also make excellent focal points for bars and restaurants and of course fashion outlets,  we have been recently appointed to design a collection of images for a luxury hotel by the coast,  the owners have some amazing images of their family from the 1900's.  The hotel has gone through a major refurbishment, but they wanted to keep the family feel for the hotel so we have provided a selection of their old images with some new images shot by the Lighthouse Studio .  The images will be arranged in groups to compliment the style of the new layout.  As soon as the works are complete I will photograph the finished interior.

Remember those days when we used to eagerly get ready to have a standard family portrait pose, with everyone either seated or standing in a row? All of us used to get all dressed up and shining for the best photo. Now, when you think of the olden (golden days), you might laugh on the outdated equipments used as they are quite dull and boring as compared to the equipments available in today’s time. But, have you ever thought of the days when cameras were not so easily available? Those were the actual time where art and photography complied with each other. Although photography was a poor relation to drawing and painting, it was highly regarded as an art. There is no debate when we talk about the art of photography as many creative concepts are incorporated to capture some of the beautiful things around us. But, when spoken about photography of art, the first thing that comes to our mind is still-life. Still images of fruits and other classic items were the most favored form of photography.

When it comes to the definition, the Merriam-Webster dictionary states that it is an "art concerned primarily with the creation of beautiful objects". In modern world, the photographer loves photography fine art as virtually anything can be fine art, be it a simple household item such as a fork, a nude body, travel, landscape, wildlife, or a landscape. After a lot of research, it is believed that fine art enables the photographers to represent a part of their personality.

Now, a lot of transformation has been noticed in the world of photography after the introduction of digital life. In today’s modern world, many photographers rely upon Digital Photography Art in order to take a step forward from 'standard' film photography. Birthday Photography Books plus DVD slideshow.

You know what normally happens,  what on earth can we get mum for her 60th or what would my wife like for her 40th?  common questions,  but what better gift than a fabulous photo book displaying all those old and new images.  All you need to do is to send us your old photographs, and we can scan them and design a book for you,  you can even have a digital slide show made so all the family can sit down and watch it on the special occasion,  your own little movie with a special message or soundtrack.

Planning is the key,  we need at least 3 weeks to complete the project,  however if you have quick deadline we will do everything to help.

Displaying your family history

 Not only is it educational but it is such a fabulous idea for all the family to be involved in.  Once you have all your old photographs copied,  negatives to digital and all the photograph restoration has been done, its time to think about your display options.  I would advise looking for a blank wall in your home to dedicate this project too.  Have a variety of sizes for maximum effect in one simple style frame to add some unity to the overall impact.
